On 14th September, we welcomed three delegates from India to the college. Representing India’s National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Chandigarh, Rama Chhabra, Vinod Kumar and Sunil Dutt Jassal have been undertaking our UKIERI Leadership and Management training programme in India, and requested that they visit the UK to see how we put into practice the skills and ideas we describe in our training.
The visit included presentations and workshop activities, structured around seeing how the lessons learned throughout the training are implemented in context at Dudley College. Delegates were given the opportunity to see all our resources, meet key staff from a range of college departments, and investigate how Dudley College’s activities could be mirrored at Indian institutions; we worked with the delegates prior to them travelling in order to make sure the programme was personalised and specific to both their individual needs and the organisation as a whole.
The visit was very successful, and we hope to invite further delegates to Dudley in the future. We are committed to our partnership with India, with a number of our staff delivering training in Chennai and Chandigarh early in October. We will also be welcoming a number of delegates to Dudley from Indian community colleges next month – through projects like this, we hope to continue to support colleagues and colleges throughout India for many years to come.
